Shawn Lane is a three-time GRAMMY Nominee and 28-time IBMA Award winner with supergroup Blue Highway. A fan-favorite vocalist, instrumentalist, and songwriter, Shawn co-founded Blue Highway and space-age I-Tone Picks. Shawn is as explosive on fiddle as mandolin and guitar, and has often lent his talents to the GRAMMY winning Earls of Leicester.
Shawn has toured or recorded with Ricky Skaggs, Lee Ann Womack,
Alison Krauss, Dan Tyminski, Doyle Lawson, Larry Sparks, Kenny Chesney, Jerry Douglas, and Willie Nelson, among others.
Shawn is a respected singer and instrumentalist that can be heard on countless albums featuring his unique vocal and instrumental touch.
Shawn is also a respected songwriter who was nominated as
2015 IBMA Songwriter of the Year, penning such iconic songs as
The Game, North Side, Sycamore Hollow, and Tears Fell on Missouri.
Lane became a founding member of Blue Highway in 1994.
As a solo artist, Shawn recently had two Number 1 songs on the Bluegrass charts in 2019, 2020, and 2021: I Met the Man and One More.
At Clemson University, Shawn is co-founder of the Bluegrass program and served as its director for 3 years. Shawn was also head of the
Bluegrass Ensemble and taught Commercial Songwriting.
Currently, in addition to touring as part of Blue Highway,
Shawn can be heard in concert with the Shawn Lane String Band
featuring the Lane Brothers,
in duet shows with Darren Nicholson,
and in solo shows.
